A skid is the same as a pallet but it does not have bottom boards, only a top deck similar to stringer pallets.
When a product needs to be pushed or dragged during transport, a skid is often used. They can be built to carry light or heavy loads. Skids can also be easier to get in and out of with a pallet jack.
